Health I remember time we were doing sex ed and told the teacher that only sex ed I need was on the job training I spent the next 45 min in Stengal office
Remember the Bocce Tournament...? I think that was only our class..? perhaps we should have a re-match at the Reunion. The winner takes the former Village Grill property in the center of Penfield... that's probably worth 95 cents now.
Do you remember the coffee house or whatever it was in the cafeteria - Marty Nelson and Cathy Tracy put on a show (I think they were playing guitars) and Mark Woestehoff and Mark Wirschem also played guitars and sang.....I think that was during our junior year but I remember it being alot of fun and kind of different for Penfield High school. Of course I dont think we were drinking any coffee......
It was a coffee house. The two Marks did play guitars and I (somewhat) remember Cathy and Marty doing the same. Roger Wink did a solo thing on guitar. Jim Gubiotti (piano), Joe Peters (bass) and Jack Lembo (singer) did the Seals & Crofts hit, "Summer Breeze."
Mark Woestehoff (or, Hoostacrotch, as Nicosia and DiBaudo used to call him) and Jack were in a band together. Mark played drums. Our Junior year we hung out. Mark was quite the attraction unintentionally performing for the crowd at the "Ten Years After" concert in the War Memorial which I'm sure he doesn't remember since he didn't remember it the next day. Jack should remember. He and I had a good view.
It'd be nice to see those two again...
I really don't remember the coffee house except for the pictures in the yearbook but I do remember that Tango stuff. Of course Southern Comfort was and still is one of my favorites.
Just to clarify---it was Cathy Tracy and Me in that coffee house---playing Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, etc. I thought it was senior year.....but it might have been Junior....the memory is definitely not what it used to be. I have a photo of me from that night hanging in my office at school. I think it was a reject that the yearbook committee didn't use. It makes my students laugh! I still have the 12-string, though I rarely play it any more. In Nashville, you can believe me when I tell you that no one is knocking MY door down to get me to play!! Hoping to see you all in November! Andrea
