Hi Yal -- It's amazing to think you have a daughter with a husband! My oldest is just 14... I've always been a little slow...lol. We're going to visit Roc. in Aug for the first time in a few years... can't wait!.... looking forward to seeing Lake Ot.

Wow! Olympic level? Holy Schnikes, congrats on that. I didn't even know you sailed. I used to sail an Ensign with the family, and I did a lot of offshore racing as well, on Lake Ontario, then in Pontchartrain and the Gulf of Mexico when I lived in Louisiana after I graduated college, and then I peaked (sailing wise) in 1979-1980 when I took a job as a semi-pro skipper on a Swan 441 based in the Caribbean, which, after Antigua week that year, I took up to Newport and did the Bermuda race, and following that I took the boat across into the Med, based in Corsica, Sardinia, and Palma, Mallorca.

Since then it's been the occasional sail on friends' boats here and there, and I have a Laser which I got for my kids and take out at times. Usual story, too many other things and expenses going on to have my own "real" boat!

If I'd known you were in Hawaii I'd have looked you up - been lucky to travel there on business a few times. My home email (this site doesn't seem too condusive to sending regular emails!) is clwhitney at baybroadband dot net.

Rgds,
Chris

Yal Lim... wow. Why do I think of a Honda Mini Trail when I see your name ? Great to see you on this site and see that you're doing well.

Regards,
Chris

Yal,
How great to hear from you. I'm sorry we won't be able to connect at the reunion. Randy and I are making a road trip of it; he's stopping by on his way up from Virginia. By that time I should have both my "hand-control' driver's license and a converted van, so I may be doing the driving (maybe it's better you won't be on the continent).

Thanks for the good wishes re my accident. It's been quite an adjustment, but I feel like I'm finally getting my old self back again. We're blessed with two great kids (the younger one's a lot more challenging, but still great), and it's wonderful having everyone home over the summer. The time sure does fly, though, and we're acutely conscious of the impending empty nest.

Best,
Steve
